| Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954 in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox are her parents. Lennox took classes in piano, flute and harpsichord in the Royal Academy of Music London for three years during the 1970s. She was able to survive on a student stipend and did part-time jobs to supplement her budget. Lennox felt that her skills weren't as good as those of the Royal Academy classmates. So she thought about alternative options she could pursue. Lennox was a flute player with a group called Dragons Playground in 1976. The group broke up shortly before their appearance as a guest on I.T.V's talents program New Faces. Between 1977 and 1980, she was vocalist for The Tourists. A British pop group. They met Dave Stewart, with whom she would form the pop-duo Eurythmics. Lennox was later able to record her solo debut album Diva. It came out in 1992. Lennox chose her most loved blues and soul tunes. Lepidoptera is a collection of four tracks that she improvised for piano that Lennox made available in May 2019.
